Lots of things have been happening around here and I have hardly had a spare moment to update this. But, as much as it pains me..., I decided not to think about homework for a while and write a blog post. :) Justin has been a trooper working on our new home. It is starting to get tiring and tedious, but he still goes over there just about every day to work on things. We have had great help as well. We finally got a dumpster a while back and Justin got some church guys to come over and help him clean out that garage! Thanks to those of you who helped with that!! It was such a relief to get that taken care of. Dad W. and Klint G. have been faithful helpers as well, doing all kinds of miscellaneous things.
Justin has finished the plumbing and electrical work and has moved on to insulation and dry wall!!! I am so excited to see things taking shape. Of course, things are pretty slow, since Justin is the only one working on it, but we are thankful to have Mom and Dad S. coming all the way to Illinois to help us out this weekend! Of course, it is also the famous Pumpkin Festival, so we'll have to give them a taste of our pumpkin spirit while they are here, but maybe things will start moving along. Here are just a few pictures:

| This is what the insulation is looking like. |

| Ta Da! We have ceilings. Those wires are hookups for lights. I hope those come soon! |
 |
| It is a little bit hard to tell, but this is in the garage where that massive pile used to be. Justin made it into a little room that he could put some things in so they wouldn't be in his way in the house. It's nice to actually have room in there! |

| Another view of the garage. Still a little bit of junk, (it didn't all fit in the dumpster), but big improvement! |
 |
| This is the utility room. Three walls down, one to go! Making progress! |

| Another view of the small bathroom and the insulation that Justin is working on. |

Dad came over and helped Justin move in a huge pile of drywall. Thanks so much, Dad! His elbow was really hurting him, but he did the job anyhow. I'm glad too because I'm pretty sure that I wouldn't have been able to handle those huge sheets!
While Justin slaves away on the house, I do homework, church cleaning, a little bit at Linden, and housework. Life has settled into a pretty normal routine, and I'm getting better at keeping the house ready to show. The house has been shown quite a bit, so maybe it will sell soon. Kevin and Erica have very graciously allowed us to stay here for a while longer so that we don't have to move in with Mom and Dad W...yet, anyway. We are very thankful for them and their house! But hopefully, we will be out of here sooner rather than later. We just have to keep working away at the new house! |
